Graduate Programme

We are a diverse and inclusive workplace committed to fairness and, in particular, the promotion of equality of opportunity for all.

HM Treasury believes a diverse workforce has a positive impact on our work and we want to do everything we can to ensure that we reflect the society we serve. The Treasury is proud to be a Disability Confident employer and a Top 50 Social Mobility Employer. In order to ensure we treat people fairly, irrespective of their background, we ask all applicants to complete a short diversity questionnaire. This information is kept securely and will only be used for monitoring purposes. It will not be disclosed to those making selection decisions.

Adjustments in the recruitment process

HM Treasury is committed to being an Equal Opportunities employer. We wish to ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and appointed solely on their suitability for the role. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you to discuss what adjustments can be made to help you demonstrate your full potential whatever the type of assessment used.

If you require any adjustments to our recruitment process, please let us know on your application form or contact us via the details below. From there a member of our recruitment team will discuss with you your specific needs at each stage of the process.

Disability Confident Leader

HM Treasury is a Disability Confident Leader. This means we’ve been recognised as an employer which is confident and leading the way in recruiting and retaining staff with disabilities. We will offer an interview to any applicants with a disability who have indicated they wish to take part in the disability confident scheme, provided they meet the essential criteria for the post set out in the person specification.

If you apply via the Disability Confident scheme you will need to meet the minimum requirements for the role in order to be invited to the assessment centre. As our selection process is designed to include several steps, we cannot assess this based on your application form alone. Whether you meet the minimum criteria will be determined by:

• Passing the Situational Judgement Test (with adjustments where necessary)
• Passing the verbal and numerical reasoning tests (with adjustments where necessary)
• Demonstrating the behaviours outlined in ‘What we are looking for’ to a satisfactory level in your application form answers.

See our page on Application advice to help you throughout your application.
