Online Tests

You can complete both the numerical reasoning test as well as a verbal reasoning test online, at a time of your choosing. You'll have five days to complete these tests, with the deadline detailed in the test invitation we send you by email.

  • You can choose where and when to take the tests so ensure you plan ahead, and don't leave it to the last minute
  • Choose a time and place where you’ll be able to focus
  • Check your internet connection before you start
  • Take time to read the test instructions thoroughly
  • Make sure you answer all the questions you can answer confidently
  • Make educated guesses: if you can eliminate two answers you should guess
  • Don’t panic – maths is generally at GCSE level
  • Take practice tests - there is a link to a practice test in your invite email
  • Practise key mathematical operations such as finding a percentage
  • Revise any problem areas using GCSE revision books or BBC Bitesize revision
  • Take practice tests to become familiar with the types of question asked - there is a link to a practice test in your invite email
  • Your university careers service or public library will have books you can use to improve your understanding of the tests and question types
  • Read the questions carefully as the wording used is important
